Hello my name is Phyllida Coroneo and I am a freelance surface pattern designer living in the beautiful countryside of Buckinghamshire, near London in the UK with my husband, two lovely children, their two adorable kitten cats, my grumpy old cat! and lots of fish.

My parents, both graphic designers left London for a life in the Somerset countryside when I was six years old. I had the freedom to explore and have adventures; collecting chestnuts in the woods, riding ponies to friends houses, paddling in the rivers and building dens. My mother was fascinated by India and although living in a country cottage we had a very eclectic interior made up of vintage finds and colourful Indian artworks, blankets and throws scattered about the house.

My mother went to St Martin's Art School in London and I dreamt of following in her footsteps. I then set about making this a reality, painting, sketching and creating as much artwork as I could inspired by the nature all around me and the colour in the cottage.  After finishing an Art Foundation course in Somerset, the dream came true and I won a place at Central St Martins College of Art and Design graduating with a degree in Fashion and Textiles. A creative and varied career followed, with fashion styling, journalism, PR, Interior design, textile design and the opportunity to design furniture and fabrics. Combining colour and pattern were always at the forefront of any project I was involved with. Companies I have worked with include British Vogue, French Connection, Gensler, Cristal Lalique and B&B Italia.

After running my own interior company Mise-en-Scene for several years and having two beautiful children, I returned to designing textiles and have sold designs in Italy and Japan and my work has been represented at Indigo.   I have more recently been looking to develop licensing opportunities to design under my own name and have my own range of fabrics with Dashwood Textile Studios in the UK.

My Designs are always created by hand before adding colour in illustrator or photoshop. My style very much reflects my love of colour, nature, fashion and culture, firstly inspired by my mother's love of India and then from travelling to Zanzibar. I often create fashion inspired colour palettes mixed with bohemian florals and contemporary patterns.

Thank you for visiting my site and I always welcome freelance enquiries or new licensing opportunities.
